Our Safeguarding Children Partnership (OSCP) - introduction
OSCP is the key statutory mechanism for agreeing how relevant organisations will work together to promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

in 2020, our colleagues from Surrey Safeguarding Partnership paid a return visit and conducted a peer review of OSCP Safeguarding arrangements.

'New' arrangements:
Our Safeguarding Children Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (OSCP) reviewed its local safeguarding arrangements in 2019 in accordance with new guidance. These arrangements were published by the ‘safeguarding partners’ - the local authority, the clinical commissioning group and the chief officer of police for the area. OSCP Independent Chair and Scrutineer
The Independent Chair, John Clements, provides a voice for OSCP to ensure its smooth running and to ensure that partner organisations collaborate effectively to coordinate and promote the help and protection of children and young people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
