Coronavirus 2021 - Message from the Independent Chair
Coronavirus 2021 news update
Tuesday 12th January 2021
2021 has started with a bang and, following a well deserved break over Christmas and the New Year, we have had to get back to work with speed and care. At least for this lockdown we have the experience of what happened last year and a much better understanding of the threats, risks and what actually works. We have many tried and tested ways of working that we have confidence in, so I feel we are much better off.
From the conversations I have had already I know there is loads of brilliant work ongoing with children firmly at the centre of it. Thanks for the way you have responded, the children across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are fortunate to have such an amazing group of people looking out for them.
I know on this occasion we have many more children in school, particularly those of primary school age, but there are many who are not. It is important that we are more curious than ever and creative in identifying those children, both younger and older, who need our help and support.
OSCP will be doing all it can to ask questions, recognise great work and stimulate new ways of safeguarding our children. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do.
I have every confidence in what we will achieve for our children, let’s hope this lockdown does not last beyond half-term.
