Suicide prevention and support

You can get help here if you are feeling suicidal.

If you are worried about your own or someone else’s mental health call the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly 24/7 NHS mental health response line on 0800 038 5300. It's free to access by anyone, any age, any time, day or night.

You can find lots of useful resources here for Mental health support for parents and young people - Cornwall Council

People struggling with mental ill health, having thoughts of suicide or worried about a friend or family member, can now "push the button" when they see someone displaying a distinctive orange badge and ask them for information and support. Follow the link to find out what this Orange Button Community scheme is and how you can get an Orange Button.

A Mental Health Safety Plan is a preventative tool designed to help support those who struggle with mental wellbeing. It may be difficult to think clearly when you feel really low or incredibly overwhelmed. It may be difficult to ignore these feelings. Safety plans are best created when not in crisis.

Suicide prevention and the promotion of good mental health is a key priority in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly - you can find out more in theCIoS Suicide Prevention Strategy 2022-2027
