Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Children Partnership

Free Lullaby Trust Safer Sleep Training

Cornwall Council Public Health and Our Safeguarding Children Partnership (OSCP) have funded FREE Lullaby Trust safer sleep training for 6 months for anyone working with families with babies in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Why you should do this training: Although sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is now very rare, over 200 babies still die every year. Following safer sleep advice can significantly reduce the chances of SIDS. Promoting safer sleep advice is everyone’s business - by talking to families, and supporting them to understand how to avoid the specific risks, we can help to reduce the number of babies dying.

Who this training is for: This training is for anyone working with families with babies in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This includes anyone who works in health, early years education, social care, voluntary and community organisations, emergency services, and housing officers.

What you’ll get from the training: There are three pre-recorded training packages to choose from, depending on your professional role. The training will provide you with a thorough knowledge and understanding of safer sleep advice relevant to your role, and enable you to discuss safer sleep with families. You will also receive links and resources to further support your training.

How to sign-up: Visit the this page where you will need to complete a pre-training survey. A link and password to access the training will then be sent to you (this could take up to 5 working days). Free spaces are limited so sign-up as soon as possible.
