Signs of Safety Multi-Agency Briefing

Please note that all face to face training dates planned until April 2022 will be delivered online using MS Teams. We have arranged some online training for June and July 2020, dates are available to book on to.

Signs of Safety is the core multi-agency approach to working with families in Cornwall and managing risk where children are in need of help and protection.

We are offering half day briefings, facilitated by Practice Leaders from Children and Family Services offering an overview of the key features of the Signs of Safety approach.

Aims:

• To share and learn from practitioners
• To increase the quality and impact of multi-disciplinary work
• To consider the impact of Signs of Safety on your work, and practice some of the core aspects of the model in group discussions.
• To focus on what is most important to the children and families we work for, and what activities warrant the most investment of our limited time, energy and resources
• To increase the quality and impact of multi-disciplinary work 

Please note: This is not a replacement for the 2 or 5 day Signs of Safety training but provides an introduction to the model and approach.

Intended Audience

These briefings are suitable for teachers, academies and colleges; early years providers / nursery settings; Police and health colleagues as well as voluntary sector partners working with children and their families. 

Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the session participants will:

• Have a basic understanding of the Signs of Safety approach when working with families
• Be able to contribute to the Signs of Safety approach when working with Children and family Services
• Utilise some of the tools to build safety networks with families
• Have a shared language around the Signs of safety approach
