Multi- Agency Neglect Deep Dive 30/09/26: When does Parental Choice become Neglect?
Course Information:
This session explores the difficult boundary between a parent’s right to make choices and a child’s right to safety, care and development. Delegates will consider situations involving elective home education, health decisions, lifestyle choices, cultural practices and affluent or disguised neglect.
The session examines how professionals can remain respectful of family autonomy while maintaining a clear focus on the child’s daily lived experience. It will strengthen professional curiosity, evidence-based assessment, respectful challenge and defensible decision-making where parental choices may be causing cumulative harm.
Cancellation Charge
Please note that with effect from 1st November 2025 we will be introducing a cancellation charge of £75. This will apply to cancellations that take place 48hours or less before the start of the course or if you book a place but do not attend.
