Multi-Agency Child Protection and Safeguarding Refresher Training

Audience: Experienced practitioners across agencies with safeguarding responsibilities
Time: 09:30 – 12:30 (3 hours)

Aim

To enhance the safeguarding leadership skills of experienced practitioners in Cornwall, focusing on professional curiosity, effective multi-agency coordination, and culturally competent practice in complex cases.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Recall and consolidate their confidence of legal frameworks and local processes, including MARU referral pathways, Early Help Hub, and escalation procedures.
2. Identify key updates in national policy and Cornwall-specific processes.
3. Describe and reflect on the contributions of different agencies in safeguarding children.
4. Apply refreshed safeguarding knowledge and professional curiosity to Cornwall-specific case studies.
5. Commit to one change in practice that strengthens inter-agency safeguarding.

Cancellation Charge

Please note that with effect from 1^st November we will be introducing a cancellation charge of £75. This will apply to cancellations that take place 48hours or less before the start of the course or if you book a place but do not attend. If you are unable to use your place you can move to an alternative date or arrange for someone else to attend in your place but please email us at OSCPtraining@cornwall.gov.uk
