Multi-Agency Child Protection and Safeguarding Masterclass 6/5/26- Child Sexual Abuse (Half-Day Course)
Course Aim
To enable practitioners to recognise, respond to, and report child sexual abuse in line with the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly CSA Response Pathway and multi-agency safeguarding procedures.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Define child sexual abuse, including contact and non-contact forms, in line with OSCP guidance.
- Recognise signs and indicators of abuse, including grooming and harmful sexual behaviour.
- Understand barriers to disclosure and how children communicate abuse.
- Respond to concerns and disclosures using trauma-informed approaches.
- Follow the CSA Response Pathway to guide decision-making.
- Understand local reporting processes including MARU referral and emergency response.
- Identify the role of parents/carers and the importance of supporting the wider family.
Cancellation Charge
Please note that with effect from 1st November we will be introducing a cancellation charge of £75. This will apply to cancellations that take place 48hours or less before the start of the course or if you book a place but do not attend.
