Teenager Gambling Awareness Training: The Warning Signs, Online Gaming and Gambling and Referral to Support

Course Details:

Recent figures show that 11% (350,000) young people gamble and there are 55,000 young people who are Problem Gamblers in the UK - this is having a significant impact on some young people’s mental health and becoming an ever increasing welfare / safeguarding issue.

This 1 hour online workshop is delivered by Lindsey  the Cornwall & Devon Youth Outreach Worker for a charity called ARA Gambling Service (working with Gamcare).

Target group:

Staff in any organisation  who work with young people aged 11-19. 

Learning Outcomes

 The workshop enables staff to –

1. Identify the impacts, signs, and symptoms of a gambling problem
2. Interact with a young person about problem gambling and screen for it
3. Inform young people about where and how to get help.
