A Whole Family Approach to Safeguarding: Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children and Adults

A Whole Family Approach to Safeguarding: Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children and Adults Virtual Training:

Target Audience:

A multi-agency group including social care practitioners, colleagues from health, schools, the Police, early years settings, sports clubs and the voluntary/community sector.

The overview:

This workshop will identify the healthy environment children require to grow and flourish, and be the best version of themselves, and the role parents/caregivers play in this. Next it will consider how this healthy environment can break down and the impact this can have on children and young people, including Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) which not only impact the child, but future generations, if not addressed. This information will then be used to inform the whole family approach, consider how to "do" the family approach, why we do it, and identify some fundamental principles. It will give some examples of actions that could be taken to address issues, considering the whole family, and delegates will be given the opportunity to identify examples from their own practice. There will be an opportunity for delegates to work on case scenarios, in small groups and pairs to both consolidate their learning, and consider how they can put their learning into practice.

The information will demonstrate the link between legislation, guidance and how to raise a Children's safeguarding concern effectively, in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Throughout the workshop there will be opportunities for small group work, personal reflection, videos, tools, and access to a number of resources for post course learning.
